The rodeo has been the cornerstone of the Las Vegas Helldorado Days since 1935. This year, Helldorado Days will include four days of rodeo action starting on Thursday, May 17 with a Local's Challenge, followed by three days of some of the top professional rodeo athletes in the world competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA)-sanctioned event.
In the Locals Challenge all of the best Las Vegas Valley cowboys and cowgirls compete for the top prize in bull riding, barrel racing and team roping. There also is a special category for the little buckaroos, those under age 7 or under 60 pounds, the Mutton Bustin' event.
Day two of rodeo action will begin on Friday, May 18 and will continue through Sunday, May 20. The National Finals Rodeo might be the biggest in Las Vegas, but Helldorado Days is the original!
