Join us for the 2012 Las Vegas Helldorado Days, May 17th to May 20th
Helldorado Days is a four-day series of outdoor community events, including America's original extreme sport, a professional rodeo. This fun festival is a Las Vegas tradition that recaptures the spirit of the Wild West and the cowboy way-of-life when adventurous men and women journeyed through the untamed West and pioneered a culture centered on the basic tenets of honorable behavior, respect and patriotism.
When you come out to Helldorado Days you won’t only be having fun, but you will be supporting the community, as the event is produced by the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge No. 1468 in order to raise money for children and veterans in Southern Nevada.
ABOUT
With its roots starting in 1935, Helldorado Days is the longest running civic event in the history of Las Vegas! It originally was created to encourage tourism to the city upon completion of Boulder Dam.
Now, with an audience of more than 15,000, Helldorado Days features a Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo, a locals rodeo, a parade, carnival, Whiskerino (facial hair) contest, golf tournament, poker tournament, art show, art auction, trail ride, exhibits, and food and beverages. During the four fun-packed days, Downtown Las Vegas is transformed, absorbing several vacant downtown blocks to build a rodeo arena and carnival from the ground up.
As a non-profit fundraising event, 100 percent of the proceeds from Helldorado Days help local children and veterans. The event always has been produced by the members of Elks Lodge No. 1468, which is part of a national organization dedicated to investing in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, by undertaking projects that address unmet need, and by honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans.
In the past two years alone, Elks Lodge No. 1468 has donated more than $100,000 to in-need children and veterans and, since 1935, has donated more than $4 million.
